Finance:

Precept 2020-21 has been set at £6,500.  The increase will accommodate refurbishment of iron sign posts.

Planning:-

1.  Erection of rear extension and front porch extension/2, Pullins Orchard/Church lane.

Recommend Approval.

2.  Erection 1 rear single storey extension and 1 rear 2-storey extension with associated works/Hope House/Southtown lane.

Recommend Approval.

3.  Erection agricultural building/New Buildings Farm/Sticklynch.

Recommend Approval.

 

Planning decisions, Mendip District Council:-

1.  Install metal spiral staircase/Laverley Farm - Approved.

2.  Proposed conversion of garage and store to 2-bed annexe/Hope House/Southtown lane - Approved.

Highways Matters:-

Finger-Posts.  J. Tucker will take photos on site and report at the next meeting.

Representatives of the Glastonbury festival present confirmed they believe one at West Bradley (Scotts lane) may be funded on behalf of West Bradley residents/Meeting by The Glastonbury Festival.

Clerk to report the dangerous state of road surfaces in Scottles Lane and Redlake.

Festival Report 2020.

Potential for an increase in numbers from 203,000 last year to 210,000 this year - as per the Licence: -   this goes through a process of assessment and is checked by all the relevant authorities (ie Police, Fire Service, Highways, Medical etc).

The plans are then shared with the relevant agencies and adjusted if necessary followed by a meeting with the relevant agencies.  The plans are then signed off.

There has been a change of use in the West area from Camper-Vans to Pre-erected tents.

The availability of more land has become available .

Half the number of Camper-Vans will be relocated to the East coming in off the A37 (Pylle lane) and will arrive on Tuesday.  They will not be permitted to leave on Monday with other traffic.

The number of coaches has been doubled which should decrease the number of cars.

Car parks will open at 8am.

The unacceptable level of noise experienced in the village in 2019 was noted as was the fact that unlike other villages West Pennard does not receive free tickets.

There will be no changes in checkpoints through the village.
