A Meeting was held on 14.03.17

Present:  G. Willcox (Chmn), L. Aldridge, T. Hodgson, A. Creed, M. Colman and DCllr J.Greenhalgh.

Minutes of the last meeting were approved and signed.

Public Speaking-time:

D. Cllr Greenhalgh gave a report re Mendip District Council:

The Budget for 2017-18 has been approved.  There will not be job cuts and there is an increase in Council Tax of 1.99%.

Our Parish Band D charge was found to have been calculated in error and has increased by £2.18 to £11.88

A new Lottery has been launched (Numbers have to be in sequence).  The money goes to projects.

The five-council partnership is going well and there is an improvement on land charges.  It now takes 9 days to get a response.  The work is shared by the five councils.

Shepton Mallet Library is moving to the council buildings in Shepton Mallet.

Parliamentary Boundary Review:  This would reduce MPs from 650 to 600.

Notice re Planning on Land adjacent to Newtown Farm is going to the Planning Board on Wednesday 22.03.17.

Local Plan Part Two:  This is a site allocations document which will identify additional housing and other sites.  A Draft Plan will be published for approval in Aprill/May 2017 with formal consultation taking place in early summer (June 2017).  N.B. Copy of Draft Proposed Housing Allocations and Development Limit for West Pennard copies on Village Noticeboard and with the Clerk.

Planning decisions, Mendip District Council:

1.  Proposed extension to dwelling/Stevillian.  Approved.

2.  Three new Holiday Chalets and associated planting/Stickleball Hill Farm.  Approved.

Planning:

1.  Create first floor extension over existing ground floor area.  New porch/Bread Cottage/Newtown Lane.

Proposed, seconded and passed recommend Approval.

2.  Proposed two storey extension and repositioning of conservatory/Burfitt Cottage/Stickleball Lane.

Proposed, seconded and passed recommend Approval.

Highways Matters:

Proposed road closure, Newtown Lane:  Deferred to April 3rd.
