Minutes of the last meeting were approved and signed.

Public Speaking-time:-

V. Jacobs gave an address re Planning Item No. 1 - Field View - Outline planning for erection of replacement dwelling, home office and revised access plus details/Stockbridge lane to Steanbow.

Proposed, seconded and passed recommend Approval with the provisio the access splay is larger to ensure vehicles are not stationary on the A361. 

V. Jacobs left the meeting.

N. Hewett-Cooper gave a report re Mendip District Council and Somerset County Council:-

Financially Mendip District Council have underspent and services are good though there has been a shortage of planners - 2 have been newly appointed.

There are no homeless in B and B's and there is an estimation there are 24 rough sleepers across the district.

Somerset County Council have a large number of plans to change definitive maps.  There are 300 ongoing with a long waiting-time.

Hinkley is ahead of schedule.

Pothole repair has been caught-up with - 182 were repaired in September.

The Libraries Consultation will be published on October 24th.

Financially £12M in cuts have been made with a current debt of £300M.

Planning: -

1.  Field View - Outline Planning with some matters reserved for erection of replacement dwelling, Home Office and revised access/Stockbridge lane to Steanbow - As per Public Speaking-time.

2.  Replace flat garage roof with pitched roof/Stoneleigh/Newtown lane - Recommend Approval.

Planning decisions, Mendip District Council:-

1.  Approve details reserved by conditions 4 and 5/Stickleball Hill Farm/Stickleball lane - Approved.

2.  Outline planning with some matters reserved for erection 1 dwelling with integral garage and 2 semi-detached dwellings with details of access and layout/Briar House - Refused.

3.  Demolition of existing barn and replace with new garage with accommodation/Gum Tree Cottage/Stockbridge lane - Approved.

Highways Matters to be reported: -

Deteriorating road surface Bradley Way and dangerous dip particularly hazardous to road-users especially after rain as it obscures the depth.
